Question: Poll for christian: are you against drugs/alcohol abuse?

If so, are you against it because of your religious influences or because it's generally unhealthy? This is mainly for people raised christian (especially those who had catholic schooling) I notice that plenty of the talks concerning drug abuse and alcohol had been taught to me in religion classes when I was young... Now that I'm older I wonder if most catholic schools worked to fight against such an issue and used religion specifically to get the point across

There is a religious answer and a secular one and they are both , YES the BIBLE is against abuse of substances and it is harmful to the general society, how is it good to live in a place where the bumbs are on drink and crack all the time

Not just Christians. I don't think you will find an atheist that has the goal to be a junkie or drunk.

Yes, and I would say that I am against any form of abuse in general. Not because of my religion, though the way I was brought up largely influences my opinion, but mainly because of how it affects the addict and the people surrounding.

I support a group. I am not an ex-addict, I just think that people who are trying to escape suffering should be helped.

I am mainly against it because of the health issues, but I do believe it is a sin to be gluttonus in anything, which would include such things. Of course, I am also against drugs that are illegal and it has nothing to do with religion, just that it is against the law.
