Discuss some of the reasons for and effects of drug use amongst young people in modern society. What can governments do to prevent and fight youth drug abuse?

Create just and equitable societies and many problems will disappear that are the drivers of drug and other types of self-destructive behavior. To create just and equitable societies, we need to understand and act upon the oneness of humanity and all that implies about our thinking and behavior. Without this kind of unity, the justice and equity cannot happen, even with legislation.

The fear tactics don't work. The facts don't persuade. What can gov't do? Tons of money and advertising campaigns seem to go down the toilet. So what's the answer(s)? Besides harsher penalties on the makes and sellers; help for those caught up in it who want assistance. ATOD programs can work. More community wide partnerships are needed. But mainly, realize that people do drugs for one major reason: inner pain. Government programs and stuff like that won't take care of the pain. I found my pain relief in Christ.
