Question: Prayer for someone with drug abuse?

What would a good prayer be to pray for someone with drug abuse and doesn't know it? Or even if they do know but can't quit or don't want to?

Just pray that God would open their eyes and recognize their addiction. As a Christian that used to be an drunk and drug addict myself, I know the difficulties that addiction brings to a persons life. In my case even when I finally recognized that I had a problem it still took years to overcome. Even then I couldn't overcome it without God's help. Only when I put my trust in Jesus Christ did things begin to change. It still wasn't overnight, but it did come and I wouldn't change anything. I tried so many times to stop. I tried psychiatric help, rehab,etc... My family tried to be supportive but I only saw it as pity. This is why it bothers me so much to see people make fun of us who put our faith in Jesus. If for no other reason to love and trust Him (and there are many) it's because He delivered me when I had no other way of deliverance Just keep praying for your friend and God bless you.

Instead of prayer, try an intervention. If you know, others know. And if you care, you will do something more than just pray.

You don't need to memorize and say a prayer someone else wrote. Just say what is in your heart. Just like talking to your biological father.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't your communication with your god a personal thing? If you talk to your god, then talk to Him as you would anybody else. Don't look for a canned prayer from someone else who doesn't even know the specifics of your situation or your relationship with your god. Make it up as you go and include requests for the things that are most important to you. That being said, talking to a god isn't going to get your friend off of drugs. Your god didn't get your friend hooked. Talking to your friend about their problem and letting them know how it makes you feel might yield better results.

Just talk to God about it. Ask the Lord to help this person. To send guidance to him/ her. To let him get help before he/ she hits rock bottom. There isn't any specific prayer for life, just talk to God like you do a friend.
