1 I am an alcoholic. 2 yes. the kids of an alcoholic has more tendency to be alcoholic (kid does everything the parents do ,good or bad ,it doesn't matter) 3 not at all.I had two kids ,male and female, the boy is a physician and the girl has an MBA. 4 there is a confusing situation between alcoholism and irresponsible parents.( I am only alcoholic) 5 80% a habit, 20% disease. 6 .not at all ,but the alcoholism and depression may come from the same psychological roots problem.( sort of,cousin that live far from each other.) 7 not help ,may be advice 8 no at all....I maintain my alcoholism by drinking same amount regularly (half a bottle monthly) if I don't I get sick (flu, cough, muscle hurt) I sincerely believe that AA is either a lose the time or killing an alcoholic ( the alcoholic dies by an rare disease "flu cough .lung and liver gave up at once ") PS. from my alcoholism I have learn that : If I drink ,I am killing my self (destroying all my digesting system) and If I don't drink, I am killing my self. ( because my body ask for because it needs it , the body of the alcoholic identify the alcohol as a vitamins .if it don't have it decay.) any other drugs can be cure ,not this one. the worse thing of alcohol is .the longest time You stay away for alcohol the bigger become the alcoholism. and when. get back the alcoholic has more thirst for it.( ten times more uncontrolable) uffff!!!! that's the true......(awful isn't it )

Kelly (above) is absolutely correct. I have been in every situation on your list, and I'm speaking from experience. BTW though I have drank to excess, I gave up booze many years ago as it simply does not agree with me. I could give you many more reasons why I don't drink, but that one should sum it up. I don't think I'm an alcoholic though as I do not miss or crave alcohol in the least... though others may just believe I'm in denial:D

1. Yes 2. No 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Yes 6. Not always 7. They can only help themselves. When and if they're ready to change, they will. Until they want to no one can help them. 8. They say in AA that you're always an alcoholic, just recovering. So I'm not exactly sure cured is the right word.
