It seems more domestic violence happens in lower income areas than in upper middle class areas.

Not so, it happens in all classes, as all classes of people each have their own stressers that may lead to money problems, alcoholism, and drugs....This should not be the excuses for domestic violence.. You just don't hear about it as much in the upper classes, as you do the others....My thought..

Not always. It usually goes unreported in upper middle class areas. It is much more common than anyone realizes. Of course, alcohol and drugs can contribute to it. I am a former victim of domestic violence. My boyfriend was beaten as a child and witnessed his father do the same to his mother. It is all he knows in terms of showing anger, control, and, as strange as it may seem, love. He is from a different country, and there, it is the kind of thing that women just accept. However it was never driven by drugs or alcohol.
