You take a sip, you don't drink 15 buckets of it. |

It should be unfermented wine(grape juice) used in the Communion Service, because fermentation is symbolic of sin. Therefore unleavened bread should only be used also. |

It doesn't encourage it but you do have to keep alcoholic priests away from it. They are not allowed to pass communion. Soon enough the church fathers find out who they are. Personally, I prefer a nice cold fruit punch, non alcoholic. I just don't like the taste of wine. |

LOL....according to the Bible....at the time Jesus didn't have a rose' or an nonalcoholic wine. He used regular red wine.....and that's what a lot of Churches use. What does this have to do with the Priests? Oh I get it....just another way to bash Catholicism. |

You only take a sip of it and after the transubstantiation has taken place it no longer is wine although it has the appearance and taste of wine. it becomes the Blood of Jesus Christ. |

Given the way that most wine used for Holy Communion tastes, I'd think it would discourage most people from becoming an alcoholic. You'd have to be pretty darn desperate and have a cast-iron stomach to drink very much of the stuff. |

Ask any psychologist or psychiatrist and they will say alcohol is not the cause of alcoholism! There is a complex plethora of contributing factors in each individual case. It is the same reason food is not the cause of people having eating disorders. Things like a low self-esteem and an overwhelming urge of self-control are the causes. It is is also the same reason the existence of casinos don't make people become gambling addicts. If there were no casinos, their root problems would find a different way to manifest it's self. Stupid thought. By the way, you don't even have to take the Precious Blood to partake of FULL communion. |
