Is occasional binge drinking alcoholism?

Question: Is occasional binge drinking alcoholism?

Sometimes I feel I have to let loose every once in a while. But when I drink, I drink until I black out and don't remember a thing. I can't have just 1 or 2. I drink until I cannot drink anymore. I don't know why and I was trying to figure out if I have a problem. Should I look into AA meetings?

Its harmful, but its not an addiction, so no I don't think you should go to AA If you don't want that to happen leave your cards at home and only take enough cash to get you nicely drunk. Tell your friends not to buy you drinks.

It's problem drinking, and if you can't have one or two drinks without it turning into a binge, you could benefit from some help. Call your local AA to see whether they can help you, or if they can refer you to someone who provides help for your particular situation. It's great that you've noticed there's an issue so early on. Good luck, I hope you get the help you need.

I wouldn't say it's a good idea to drink till ya black out(bad things happen) but if it really is only once in a while to let loose don't worry so much. Get drunk just be responsible about it.

If you are beginning to think you have a problem, then it is a good time to evaluate your habits. If this happens EVERY time, then you may way to go to a meeting. It can't hurt.
