A co-worker recently returned to work after severe medical issues complicated by her alcoholism...?
Upon her return, she has been ostracized by the staff and openly gossiped about by her boss the owner . He keeps a well stocked bar at the office and it is " open" at 4pm every Friday for anyone who wants to pour a drink has been for years even knowing she has a drinking problem, it was always encouraged to have a drink or two on Fridays including this particular co worker. Recently, 4pm rolled along and a few girls got themselves a drink and this co worker also got one the boss had already left for the afternoon. Some of the girls " tattled" that the recently ill co worker had a drink so the boss has written her up and told her she had to sign it it stated that she is not allowed to partake in the open bar policy on Fridays like the other girls do because she has a drinking problem. Can he legally get away with this??? This would be about a month after he joked after hours with some staff at a restaurant that it was " no panties Thursdays and no bra Fridays" and that the no bra thing was an inside joke because it was clear one Friday that this co worker was not wearing a bra.
Why Does alcoholism correlate with lower education?
I've noticed this strictly from observationHigh School dropouts Definitely the most alcoholic group. Hands down.High School graduate without college They usually drink every weekend or so, could be an acoholic. Some college May have partied too much and dropped out. Drank too much but may not do it anymore.College graduate Without master's Doctorate's Occasional social drinkers. They work hard, so not much time to drink.Master's doctorate's NEVER drink. Never met someone who drank with this degree of education. Is it just me or is this the way it goes? Some college, since I'm a Freshman. I've never drank alcohol in my life though.I said MOST.Kristi, those are EXCEPTIONS.What I meant Kristi, if there was a story in my local newspaper where a 38 year old man had his 18th DUI, dropped out of high school at age 15. OF course, that would be an EXCEPTION And tell me how it is possible to graduate from college as an alcoholic?CCC, most people in the military do NOT graduate from high school. But you didn't explain very well. I do watch the news. Guess what? Most alcohol offenders are not educated....at all. So....what are you getting at?CCC, the military pays for college but most of them do not ATTEND college.I meant a lot of them try to go into college and drop out of college. Which is true, especially out of combat.I'm waiting to hear how it is possible to do hours of homework a night and stay an alcoholic. Because it is impossible.
Is there a higher alcoholism rate in atheists?
Regardless of what you feel about religion, even if you mock people and say it's just something to " lean" on during hard times, if you have nothing else can I say that there may be a higher alcoholism and drug addiction rate among atheists?
Has anyone ever been healed from alcoholism or drug addiction?
Why is alcohol, and alcoholism, more acceptable than other drugs or addictions?
Okay, I am an American, as many of you are, and I realize in other cultures it is different. But here in the Western world it seems that alcohol is far more acceptable than any other drugs ... just look at the laws.I have seen more damaging effects or equally damaging effects, of alcohol, than for example, marijuana or other drugs. It is strong and debilitating. How did the culture develop such a strong understanding for alcohol and such a resentment for other drugs? The effects of alcohol are just as damaging, if not worse, in my opinion than other drugs such as marijuana. Any substance abuse is bad, but why is it when we hear of a cocaine addict or a pot head that we immediately experience some sort of horror while your Uncle Tom can be an alcoholic without a job, living in bars and on people's couches, and his behavior is some how more acceptable than the coke head or pot head who has a steady job and a home? I know alcoholism is taken seriously, I'm not saying that it isn't. But the reaction of people hearing of a man or woman in a rehab program is more intense than their reaction to a man or woman in an alcoholism anonymous class. I'm not condoning drug use, and I'm not supporting prohibition, I'm just curious as to what happened along the road to come to that end? Another thing is, these days, it seems cigarettes are considered horrible and disgusting, but drinking yourself into a coma at a bar, where you can't smoke, is totally fine.
Do you beleive alcoholism is genetic? yes/ no..simple question!?

Holy Quran only prohibited alcoholism & taking other harder drinks, interest on money...etc, all evils?
Also the gambling incuded in the list Innal khamru wal maisiru wal ansaabu wal azlaamu , rijsum min AMALIS SHITAANU, FAJTANIBOOHU... . Magic too is illegal Old & New Testaments new testaments don't have such GOOD verses at all. Did you know ?Should not such evil crreatiing things be abolished ?Interest of money exploites poor indiscriminately by money lenders. It must not be equated with inflation as both are totally different things. Deserting a family of poor is INHUMAN. If there is an inflation, that is the EVIL of economic system, NOT a STANDARD PARAMETER of economy. Generally, stock brokers or economists in general, DELIBERSATELY keep inflation ARTIFICIALLY even if that must be zero. That is treachery, NOT principled stand & a standard procedure of economic system. A good economist must be highly principled, God fearing & greatly HUMANETARIAN too. Only amassing money by businessman is NO AT ALL good economic set up.Is deserting people by exploitation of money lending or any other means NOT an evil ? DOES NOT a poor man have right to survive with honour ?
